Putting Conservation Practices on the Ground

Putting Conservation Practices on the Ground

Silviculture forestry management increases the cropping potential of the land from just pulp wood and saw timber production to include 2 cuttings of Crimson Clover forage, beef cattle rotational grazing along with seasonal nitrogen contributions from the atmosphere to the soil by the bacterial inoculation of the clover (legume). Seasonal efficiencies in crop fertization can be improved through the use of commercial bacterial inoculants.

Vigere Soil and Water Program

Vigere, Latin “To be vigorous or “thrive” is a holistic approach to natural resource management where the commercial crop and the natural areas including water bodies are managed to limit crop nutrients from moving off target.
